Cassie's Story

Cassie McDuffey is a jazz and gospel vocalist and entrepreneur originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She started singing at the tender age of 7 by singing in her church and in the community. Cassie’s love of jazz began when, as a small child, she saw Ella Fitzgerald singing live. That moment forever changed Cassie and defined her love for singing jazz.

What sets Cassie apart from other vocalists is her ability to tell a story when she sings. With the use of unique phrasing, harmony, and scat singing, her vocal delivery is refreshing and one-of-a-kind. Cassie is most comfortable on stage and refers to singing as "her drug of choice" because performing is intoxicating for her.  Cassie has performed with legendary pianists Billy Taylor, George Duke and saxophonist Gerald Albright as well as local musicians in the Pittsburgh and Indianapolis areas.

When not on the stage, Cassie is growing her career as an independent musician. She combines a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and her experience in leading projects with an unquenching entrepreneurial spirit to pour into her life-long dream of being a professional vocalist. Cassie is also passionate about empowering youth through the performing arts and can be seen lending her voice in order to help performing arts organizations serve the community.  On Sundays, you will find Cassie praising God and serving in the music ministry at Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis, IN.

Cassie is currently working on her debut EP, titled Perfect Timing, due to be released in the fall of 2018.
